Go to Australia for an Ideal Family Vacation

Australia is just the place to go for that perfect family vacation. Whether it’s spotting kangaroos and koalas, or catching a glimpse of fairy penguins, the country has a lot to keep you and your children happy throughout your holiday. You trip will probably start out in Sydney, but it won’t end there—but while you’re there, you can marvel at the incredible architecture and landscape, which will leave an indelible mark on your memory.
When traveling with kids, there’s a lot you can do in and around this splendid city.
Just about 550 kilometers west of Sydney—a short distance in the land down under—you’ll find the delightful Warrumbungle National Park with its fabulous rocky landscape, which is left over from volcanoes that existed millions of years ago. The park is ideal for hiking as well as all day camping. A word of caution for tourists traveling with children—the campsites are not fully protected, and many times animals such as kangaroos and emus are seen walking around the area.
Australia is full of family-friendly activities, from the Outback to the coastal areas; here are just a few more of the delights this country has to offer:

Carnarvon National Park

Carnarvon National Park, AustraliaThe Carnarvon Gorge is the central attraction of this park; a deep gorge with sparkling streams and plenty of wildlife. The best part about the park is that you and your children can actually feed kookaburras and parrots by buying birdseed available in the campground stores.

Centrepoint Tower

Tallest Building, AustraliaYour kids will absolutely love the view of Sydney from The Centrepoint Tower, the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. The tower also offers two impressively designed revolving restaurants. You can also visit the tower at night and get a view of the dazzling lights of the city.

Ferry Ride

Beauty Inside AustraliaMuch of the beauty of the city of Sydney comes from the surrounding water. Head out to the beautiful harbor of the city and go for a ferry ride that starts at Circular Quay and takes you and the kids to Manly. On the way, you will pass by the fabulous Sydney Opera House—without a doubt one of the most spectacular architectural wonders of the world. If your kids love to take rides through the water, you can also try the harbor cruises that take you around Sydney Harbor as well as the waterways.

Circular Quay

Walk Around The Rock, AustraliaBefore stepping onto the ferry for a ride, you can walk around Circular Quay that itself has much to offer. Take a pleasant walk in the oldest district of Sydney, known as “The Rocks”—a charming area with cobblestone streets and stone buildings. A visit to the Sydney Visitor Center to watch historical displays and pick up some tourist information is also recommended. During the weekends, you will find open-air markets on George Street.

Taronga Park Zoo

Have Fun, AustraliaThe Taronga Park Zoo can be reached by ferry from Circular Quay. This zoo features an idyllic view of the harbor, and the kids will be delighted with the zoo, which features a wide variety of animals that are native to Australia, including underwater marine life, wombats, platypuses, koalas, dingoes, echidnas, Tasmanian devils, and kangaroos.

Beaches

Enjoy Australia BeachIf you are looking for a beach day out with the kids, Australia won’t disappoint, with vast stretches of perfect beach all along the Gold Coast. Of course, the spectacular Great Barrier Reef can’t be missed, and is a delight for visitors of all ages.
